Denzel Freeman Opens Up on UFC Release and ‘Luke Fox’ Nickname
28-04-26

Former UFC heavyweight Denzel Freeman has opened up about his recent release from the promotion after a first-round loss to Josh Hokit at UFC 324 in January.

Freeman spoke with MMA Fighting’s José Youngs in Las Vegas, breaking down both his exit from the roster and the origins of his "Luke Fox" nickname.

The 7-2 heavyweight explained his interest in Batman, the Absolute Universe, and comic books, tying that fandom to the Luke Fox moniker he’s carried into his professional career.

Freeman, a former LFA champion, was finished in Round 1 by Hokit on the UFC 324 preliminary card, marking the first stoppage defeat of his career and leading to his release from the UFC shortly after.
