Aljamain Sterling kept his momentum rolling at UFC Vegas 116 and immediately set his sights even higher.
Sterling defeated Youssef Zalal by lopsided decision in the main event at the Meta APEX, securing his third victory in his new division and strengthening his position among the featherweight contenders.
With the win, Sterling made it clear he wants an opportunity to become a two-division UFC champion, putting his name in the mix alongside established featherweight forces such as Movsar Evloev and former champion Alexander Volkanovski.
The event also featured key results elsewhere on the card. In the co-main event, Joselyne Edwards defeated Norma Dumont, while Rafa Garcia earned a win over Alexander Hernandez. Davey Grant, Raoni Barcelos, and Ryan Spann were also among the notable names competing at UFC Vegas 116.
In the aftermath, MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck and Alexander K. Lee discussed potential future matchups for Sterling following his main event victory, as well as what could be next for Edwards, Dumont, Garcia, Hernandez, Grant, Barcelos, and Spann on the "On To the Next One" podcast.
